Anemia - Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

Anemia

Lacking of blood is called anemia. It denotes a shortage of
rich red blood cells and coloring matter and usually results
from consumption of refined foods.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of anemia are tired looking eyes, wrinkles,
grayish skin, dizziness, fatigue, lack of energy, shortness of breath,
slow healing of wounds, headaches, pale fingernails,
mental depression, and poor memory.

Causes

* Reduced or low formation of red blood cells either due to defects
in the bone marrow or an inadequate intake of iron, vitamins,
   and protein.
* Heavy loss of blood due to injury , bleeding piles, and heavy
   menstruation may also cause anemia.
* Anemia can also be caused by a variety of drugs which destroy
vitamin E or by others which inactivate the nutrients needed
   in building blood cells.
* Other cause of anemia are intestinal parasites or worms.

How To Cure Anemia

* Diet is important in the treatment of anemia.
* Iron should always be taken in its natural organic form.
* Common foods rich in natural organic iron are wheat and wheat
grain cereals, brown rice, cabbage, apples, tomatoes, eggs,
   dates, etc.
* A liberal intake of ascorbic acid is necessary to facilitate absorption
of iron. At least, two citrus fruits should be taken daily.
* Beets are extremely important in curing anemia. Beet juice contains
potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulphur, iodine, iron, copper,
   carbohydrates, protein, fat, etc.

Water Treatment
* A cold water bath is among the most valuable curative measures
   in anemia.
* You should take cold baths twice daily.
* Full sun baths are especially beneficial as sunlight stimulates the
   production of red cells.
* Deep breathing and light exercise like walking and simple yoga asanas
should be undertaken to tone up the system.

Obesity - Causes and Treatment

OBESITY
* A bodily condition characterized by excessive deposition or
storage of fat in adipose tissue is called obesity.
* Obesity can occur at any age in either sex.
* Among women, obesity is liable to occur after pregnancy and
   at menopause.
* Obesity is a serious health hazard as the extra fat puts a strain on
the heart, kidneys, and liver as well as hips, knees, and ankles.
* Overweight persons are susceptible to several diseases like
coronary thrombosis, heart failure, high blood pressure, diabetes,
arthritis, gout, and liver and gallbladder disorders.

CAUSES
* The chief cause of obesity, most often is overeating.
* Obesity is sometimes also the result of disturbances of the thyroid
   or pituitary glands.

TREATMENT
* The chief consideration in this treatment should be the balances
selection of foods which provide the maximum essential nutrients
with the least number of calories
* The patient should undertake a juice fast for 7 to 10 days.
Juices of lemon, grapefruit, orange, pineapple, cabbage,
and celery may be taken during this period.
* Juice fasts should be repeated at regular intervals of two months
or so till the desired reduction in weight is achieved.
* After juice fast, the patient should spend a further four for five days
on an all-fruit diet, taking three meals of fresh juicy fruits such as
   oranges, grapes,pineapple, and papaya.
* Never eat until hungry.
* Do not eat when tired, angry, or worried.
* Ingestion of honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity.
Start with about 10 grams of honey with hot water.
The dose can be gradually increased.
* Another effective remedy for obesity is an exclusive lemon juice diet.
* Cabbage is considered to be an effective home remedy for obesity.
* A 100 grams if cabbage yields only 27 kilo calories of energy while the
same quantity of wheat bread will yield about 240 calories.
* Exercise is an important part of weight reduction plan.
* Walking is the best exercise to begin with and may be followed

Fatigue - Causes and Treatment

 FATIGUE

* Almost every person has to work overtime on certain occasions,
sacrificing rest and sleep, which may cause temporary fatigue.

* Fatigue is an indication that the cells of the body are not getting
sufficient live atoms in the food.

* Chronic or continuous fatigue is, however, a serious problem which
requires a comprehensive plan of treatment.

* Chronic fatigue can result from a variety of factors.

CAUSES

* The chief cause of fatigue is lowered vitality or lack of energy
   due to wrong feeding habits.

* Anemia is a very common ailment leading to tiredness.

* Insomnia or lack of sleep can be a cause of fatigue.

* Mental tension is one of the major causes of fatigue.
This leads to needless waste of energy.

TREATMENT

* People who eat small mid-meals suffer less from fatigue
and nervousness. Mid-meals consist of fresh or dried fruits,

Importance of Exercise and Activity

EXERCISE AND ACTIVITY:

* For correct living, it is essential to differentiate between exercise
and activity. While both are important as they are involved in
vital physical movement, they vary in degree and benefits.
* Activity uses the body to a limited degree and generally to
   achieve a specific purpose.
* Activity requires less physical effort and often less conscious
effort once the routine has been established.
* Exercise demands considerable physical effort and is more
beneficial as mental concentration is simultaneously employed.

BENEFITS OF EXERCISE:

* Regular exercise taken properly can achieve the increased use
of food by the body, which contributes to health and fitness.
* The healthy person usually has abundant body heat and a warm
   radiant glow.
* Exercise can prevent or reduce gravitational ptosis or sag,
as it is commonly called. Ptosis results from uneven flow of blood
in the feet, legs and lower abdomen.
* The full use of the lungs in vigorous exercise can reduce or
prevent long congestion due to lymph accumulation.
* Gas and intra-intestinal accumulations can be reduced by exercise
that acts to knead and squeeze or vibrate the intra-intestinal mass.
*  Better respiratory reserve is developed by persistent exercise.
* Sweating in exercise aids kidneys by helping to eliminate the
   waste matter from the body.
* Persistent exercise leads to improvement in the quality of blood.
* Systemic exercise promotes physical strength and mental vigour.
* Exercise increases calorie output. The body fat can be reduced by regular exercise.
