Anemia - Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

Anemia

Lacking of blood is called anemia. It denotes a shortage of
rich red blood cells and coloring matter and usually results
from consumption of refined foods.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of anemia are tired looking eyes, wrinkles,
grayish skin, dizziness, fatigue, lack of energy, shortness of breath,
slow healing of wounds, headaches, pale fingernails,
mental depression, and poor memory.

Causes

* Reduced or low formation of red blood cells either due to defects
in the bone marrow or an inadequate intake of iron, vitamins,
   and protein.
* Heavy loss of blood due to injury , bleeding piles, and heavy
   menstruation may also cause anemia.
* Anemia can also be caused by a variety of drugs which destroy
vitamin E or by others which inactivate the nutrients needed
   in building blood cells.
* Other cause of anemia are intestinal parasites or worms.

How To Cure Anemia

* Diet is important in the treatment of anemia.
* Iron should always be taken in its natural organic form.
* Common foods rich in natural organic iron are wheat and wheat
grain cereals, brown rice, cabbage, apples, tomatoes, eggs,
   dates, etc.
* A liberal intake of ascorbic acid is necessary to facilitate absorption
of iron. At least, two citrus fruits should be taken daily.
* Beets are extremely important in curing anemia. Beet juice contains
potassium, phosphorus, calcium, sulphur, iodine, iron, copper,
   carbohydrates, protein, fat, etc.

Water Treatment
* A cold water bath is among the most valuable curative measures
   in anemia.
* You should take cold baths twice daily.
* Full sun baths are especially beneficial as sunlight stimulates the
   production of red cells.
* Deep breathing and light exercise like walking and simple yoga asanas
should be undertaken to tone up the system.

Skin Care Tips

How To Take Care Of Your Skin..!

Cleansing:  This is one of the best method to have a good skin.
A quick cleanse in the morning and a thorough cleanse at night
are important for every skin type.

Tips To Remove Eye Make-Up:

* Dab a little eye make-up remover on to two cotton wool pads.
   Never use tissue on eyes.

* Use one pad for each eye (to avoid infection) and hold it against
your lashes for a few seconds to dissolve the make-up.

Tips To Wipe-Off Cleanser:

* Warm the cleanser in your hands so that it does not go on cold.

* Smooth it over your face with your whole hand, starting at the neck
   and working up and out.

* Place your thumbs under your chin and work the cleanser in little
circles with your index fingers around your nose and chin.

* Remove the cleanser by wiping it off gently with a soft tissue or a
   piece of cotton wool.

Tips For Using Toner:

* Sweep the toner on to your face with a cotton wool pad, moving up
and out, avoiding the eye area.

* Blot your skin dry with a tissue.

Tips For Steaming:

* Cleanse your skin first.

* Pour boiling water into a bowl and lean over the steam.
Draping a towel over your head and the bowl will prevent
   steam escaping.

* Be very careful not to get too close to the water. Do not steam
   for more than few minutes.

* Apply a cleansing mask afterwards, while your skin is still warm,
or cleanse your skin again and massage moisturizer into it.

Steaming warms and softens the skin making it easier to remove blackheads.

Dandruff Causes and Treatment

Dandruff Symptoms

* Scaliness increases whenever the hair is brushed or rubbed.
It may also appear as lumps or crusts on the scalp.

* There will be itching and the scalp may become red from
   scratching.

Causes

* The main causes of dandruff are wrong feeding, constipation,
emotional  tension, harsh shampoos, and exposure to cold
  and general exhaustion.

Treatment

* Keep the hair and scalp clean so as to minimize the accumulation
   of dead cells.

* The hair should be brushed daily to improve the circulation and
   remove any flakiness.

* In the case of long hair, two strokes would be best to avoid
   stretching the hair.

* The scalp should also be thoroughly massaged every day
using one’s finger tips and working systematically over the head.

 * Diet plays an important role in the treatment of dandruff.

* A warm water enema should be taken daily to cleanse the bowels
and all other measures adopted to eradicate constipation.

HOMEMADE REMEDIES FOR DANDRUFF

* The use of fenugreek seeds is one such remedy. Two tablespoons
of fenugreek seeds should be soaked overnight in water. The
softened seeds should be ground into a fine paste in the morning.
This paste should be applied all over the scalp and left for half-an-hour.
The hair should then be washed thoroughly with soapnut solution or
  shikakai.

* The use of a teaspoon of fresh line juice for the last rinse,
while washing hair, is equally beneficial.

* Dilute cider vinegar with an equal quantity of water and dab
this on to the hair with cotton wool in between shampooing.
Cider vinegar added to the final rinsing water after shampooing
  also helps to disperse dandruff.
